Cyberpunk Alice in Wonderland!

The challenge was to take any Disney princess and place theme in a cyberpunk environment. It took a while to figure out which one I wanted to remake, and after a lot of sketching I settled on Alice because of the idea of her falling down the rabbit hole. Where nothing makes sense and the physics don't matter.

FAKE MTG Card: Sir John H. McRadislav

A belated birthday present for a very good friend of mine! He's a big fan of Magic the Gathering and over the years has amassed quite the collection of cards.

I don't think he has a black lotus though...

This was a lot of fun to illustrate and I'll be giving the same treatment to my other friends as their birthdays arrive.

Banjo Kazooie and Nintendo Gamer

I was asked by a writer for Nintendo Gamer if an old drawing I had made of Banjo-Kazooie could be featured in an upcoming article. I was more than happy to oblige, however, if something I had drawn was going to be seen by many people I wanted it to represent my current skill. So I updated it and I have to say it really shows the improvements I've made over the course of a year.

Here is the old drawing:

and here is the new and improved drawing:

While I still love the simplicity of the old drawing, I wanted to breathe new life into it and also see how much I could improve it in an hour.

It makes me feel like I'm really improving and all this hard work is paying off :)

Cheers!

He-Man and Bravestarr. 80's explosion!

Howdy!

So I've been busy practicing new techniques to be a better artist all-around.

Mostly I've been focusing on lighting and composition; two crucial elements to any drawing. Looking back at my older works I've noticed that I severely lacked depth and impact and since art is all about catching the viewers eye, I've put myself through illustration bootcamp to break those nasty old habits.

Here are two new pictures. The first is a challenge to zombify the He-Man universe and the second is to redesign Thirty-Thirty from Bravestarr. Yeah, I've never heard of it either...

Enjoy!

Bruce Lee: Kato and a bunch of WIP's

I've been practicing different styles of painting. Been trying to stay away from a lot of detail and focus more on the form and atmosphere. I always loved the green glow of the headlights on their car and wanted to play around with it.
Working on another DC villain pin-up of you know who!

Was doing this for skratchjam...but I missed the deadline, so I'm doing it anyway because I like where it's heading.

Working on a belated birthday gift for a good friend. The concept behind it making him into a magic card. haha.
And Scarlet Spider-man. I know I know, fuck Ben Reilly and fuck the clone saga...it's still a wicked costume!

Goblin Goon

I'm bad with names, okay!?

This was just a 3-4 hour practice where I wanted to just draw anything at all.  To me it looks like if Killer Croc became a petty thug and finally put on a damn shirt.

Sidenote: social media is tiring to keep up with.

First Post!

Hey everyone! Welcome to my new (first) blog.

This is going to be where I post work in progress, sketches, and unfinished pieces. I might even treat you to a nice rant every now and then!

Since I'm still working out the kinks I felt like I should start with a bit of an oldie, but a goody.

Enjoy and come again!
